Annually on August 15, National Back to School Prep Day is observed. This day is set aside for school shopping and to start adjusting your schedule for the new school year. The school year may be different than the previous year, with the pandemic still happening. Virtual learning from home may be more common.
How to Prep
First, get your supplies ready. Check the list that your teachers have sent you to make sure you have everything. If you will be sitting in a classroom, you may want to buy facemasks and hand sanitizer. Blue light glasses may come in handy to protect your eyes while learning online. Next, set aside a distraction free area in your home so your children can stay focused while completing homework. Finally, establish a routine to get ready for the first day of school. Start adjusting sleep patterns. Create a morning routine so when the first day of school arrives, you and your kids will be reading to go.
Why It’s Important to Prep
It’s a chance to build your children’s excitement about the first day back at school. There’s a special feeling about it. Summer vacation has ended, which may seem like a surprise to your children. But it’s a great chance to prepare your kids for what lays ahead of them. It’s even more important due to the ever-changing pandemic restrictions. Memories are created with taking pictures on the first day of school and can be looked back on. Parents can also think about meal prep and creating their own routine once the kids are in school.
