In 1996, the Armed Services YMCA established November as Military Families Month. Each year since, the U.S. Government recognizes the occasion. This November, the President signed a proclamation for National Veterans and Military Families Month in recognition of their patriotism. President Donald J. Trump wrote:
“The Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen who fight to defend our liberty embody courage, patriotism, and loyalty. These patriots safeguard the values that keep our great Nation strong. During National Veterans and Military Families Month, we honor and express our deep appreciation for these brave men and women and their families.”
Honoring Veterans and Military Families
Throughout the United States history, our military members have protected the rights and freedoms of our country. The sacrifices of these brave men and women continue to preserve our Nation. The courageous families supporting these patriots also deserve recognition and appreciation for their devotion to the security of the United States. Often military families spend months or even years apart while the service member answers the call of duty. It is often left up to family members to support the service member and handle home front responsibilities.
November is a great time to share your gratitude towards military members and their families.
Whether active, reserves, past, present, or families of, acknowledging their service to our country is important. You can learn how to give back to our Veterans and Military families by reaching out to organizations or a military families near you. Several organizations and businesses across the U.S. support our military members and families all year but have special events or promotions in November.
To the brave service men and women who have and continue to protect our country, and the families supporting our service members, we at Merdes Law Office thank you.
