Staying alert while driving makes Alaska roads safer for everyone. It’s important to be focused and present when driving. Avoid deep or intense thoughts to discourage becoming distracted. A driver who’s experiencing emotional distress will not be fully attentive while driving.
Stay Alert
Being alert while behind the wheel reduces the probability of an accident. Distracted driving risks the safety of everyone on the road. A driver should focus solely on the task of driving and not be physically or mentally distracted when behind the wheel.
Emotional And Mental Distractions
A concern during this pandemic is that a number of people are under an unusual amount of stress. Many drivers find themselves spacing out or lost in thought while on the road. This can become very dangerous in the event a driver is unable to quickly react to something in the roadway.
Call the police or troopers if you notice a driver who’s placing others at risk. For your own safety, do not engage an aggressive driver.
