This week is American Education Week and today is Education Support Professionals Day. School districts across the country rely on support professionals to keep schools running smoothly. American Education Week highlights this. However, this year has changed the way school systems run and has changed the need for support professional roles.
The Role Of Education Support Professionals
Support professionals assist in running schools and school districts. Roles include administration, transportation, food workers, custodial, maintenance and many others. During COVID-19, support roles have shifted from focusing on maintaining facilities for students to helping children in the community. Firstly, primary focuses are on aiding in distance learning, providing meals, sanitizing schools, and making calls to check on students. These roles are critical to the success of schools across the country.
