Fire Prevention Week
Although October is Fire Prevention Month, October 3 – 9, 2021 is also Fire Prevention Week. For 2021, the National Fire Prevention Association’s theme is “Learn the Sound of Fire Safety!” Focusing on learning the sounds of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in homes and that those sounds are a sign to act.
Annual Theme
These year’s theme also serves to remind those who care for or fall into the category of deaf or hearing impaired. The NFPA would like to ensure all people are safe and have devices which fit their need and life. They include a flyer on the website on how to best prepare and reduce the risk for deaf and hearing impaired households.
Resources
The NFPA website provides details for how to make your household safer. As well as, providing a lot of resources and activities to teach and review fire safety in the home. Many targeted for children to learn the importance of and steps to be safe when a fire occurs.
