Many crashes that occur in an intersection are because of drivers running red lights. Make Alaska roads safer by always stopping for a red light.
In 2019, over 550,000 people ran red lights on a Friday. This makes Friday the most dangerous and deadliest day for running reds. When vehicles collide due to someone running a red light, t-bones and head on crashes are more likely to occur.
One in three Americans know someone who was injured or killed due to an accident caused by running a red light. Further, more than half of deaths caused by running a red light are pedestrians, bicyclists, or passengers of another vehicle that did not run a red light.
Slow down. Make time and stop for that light. It may just be the difference between seriously injuring yourself or someone else; making it home or not making it home at all.
