Travel during 2020 has been restricted due to COVID-19. As we near the end of the year, many people are arranging travel to visit family and friends during the holidays. If you are traveling during this time, protect yourself and others while traveling.
Take Precautions
Always wear a mask while traveling to protect yourself and others. Properly wear the mask, covering your mouth and nose. Social distance from people not in your immediate household, giving yourself space in between groups. Sanitize your hands frequently, especially before touching your face. Wash your mask or discard and use a new mask. The outside of masks may be contaminated during travel.
Do Not Fall Victim To False Security
If you visit family, do not assume that you are safe from COVID-19 once you reach your destination. Continue wearing masks to protect you and your loved ones when visiting. Sanitize frequently and do not share things like utensils or drinks. It is best to quarantine yourself 14 days before and 14 days after traveling. Finally, do not assume a no symptoms means you are not sick, it can take several days for symptoms to present themselves.
If you can avoid traveling this year, it is best to find alternate ways to spend time with loved ones. Things like video chats make it easy to connect with love ones while keeping everyone safe from spreading COVID-19.
