National Truck Driver Appreciation Week
September 13-19 is National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. During the COVID-19 pandemic, commercial truck drivers have been crucial in keeping food and supplies in stores. It’s important to acknowledge and show support for the services they provide to all communities.
Appreciating Commercial Drivers
Many businesses and families show appreciation to truck drivers in a variety of ways. Some companies provide free meals, discount opportunities, and gifts to truckers who commute through their areas or provide services to the company. Sending thank you cards to trucking companies to share with their drivers is a common way for families to show gratitude.
Be Cautious Of Commercial Drivers On The Road
Appreciate truck drivers year round by respecting them on roadways. Be cautious of commercial trucks when driving in Alaska. Drive carefully and leave lots of space between your vehicle and a commercial truck. It is important to remember smaller vehicles are no match for large commercial vehicles. In accidents with commercial vehicles, smaller ones tend to get crunched..or worse.
